Faith and Finance

Walking in faith with your finances involves trusting God as your provider while applying biblical principles to your financial decisions.

Here’s a guide on how to align your financial life with your faith:

1. Trust in God's Provision

Scripture: " And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory

in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

  •  Action: Believe that God is your ultimate source, not your job, investments, or

other income sources. Trust that He will meet your needs as you practice financial

stewardship.

2. Tithing and Generosity

Scripture: " Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops."

(Proverbs 3:9)

  • Action: Make giving a priority by tithing and supporting causes that align with

God’s kingdom. Generosity is an act of faith, showing that you trust God with

your finances and believe that He will multiply what you have.

3. Plan with Purpose

Scripture: "The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty

comes only to poverty." (Proverbs 21:5)

  • Action: Create a budget and financial plan that reflects God’s values—account for giving, saving, investing, and spending wisely. Set financial goals that align with your purpose and honor God in how you use your money.

4. Avoid Debt and Live Within Your Means

Scripture: "The borrower is slave to the lender." (Proverbs 22:7)

  • Action: Practice contentment and avoid unnecessary debt. Live within your means, and if you are in debt, prioritize paying it off with discipline and prayer.

5. Pray for Financial Wisdom

Scripture: "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all

without reproach, and it will be given him." (James 1:5)

  • Action: Seek God’s guidance for financial decisions. Pray for wisdom before making major purchases, investments, or career changes, and ask for discernment on how to manage your resources effectively.

6. Be Patient and Trust in God’s Timing

Scripture: "For still the vision awaits its appointed time... If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay." (Habakkuk 2:3)

  • Action: Understand that financial growth and prosperity take time. Be patient, trust God’s process, and remain faithful in the small things, knowing He will bless you in due time.

7. Break the Spirit of Fear

Scripture: "For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control." (2 Timothy 1:7)

  • Action: Don’t let fear control your financial decisions. Step out in faith with investments, business opportunities, or career moves after prayer and wise counsel. Fear can hold you back from receiving God's blessings.

8. Practice Gratitude

Scripture: "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

  • Action: Regularly thank God for the resources He’s already provided. Gratitude shifts your focus from what you lack to what you have, and this mindset opens you up to receive more blessings.

9. Build Wealth for Generational Impact

Scripture: "A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children."

(Proverbs 13:22)

  • Action: Invest in your future with the long-term view of building generational wealth. Whether through life insurance, real estate, or other financial strategies, be intentional about leaving a legacy that honors God.

10. Keep God First in Every Financial Decision

Scripture: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things

will be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)

  • Action: Prioritize God’s kingdom in all that you do. Before making any financial decision, ask yourself, “Does this honor God? Does it align with His will for my life?” Keeping God first ensures that your financial journey is on the right path.
